In house boat transport and boat maintenance works
Transfer of boats from the quay to the allocated area.
The sequence of pictures taken at Kalkara Boatyard are an evidence in themselves. The hydraulic transporter shown is the only one of its kind in Malta.
Boats being transported to and from the quay are thus safe. Although the transporter is such that its design and layout offers equal weight distribution, not to cause any damage to hull structures, personnel at the Yard check acutely and ensure that this is so before transfer commences.

Osmosis Treatment and Protection
We have been repairing blistered boats for well over 20 years and have applied shield treatment to over 90 boats. Your boat will be treated in an air controlled 'tent' area.

Joinery and Interiors Building
Any interior work can be carried out by Kalkara Boatyard. This may consist of improving the interior according to clients wishes, radical changes, new interiors or adding to existing interior work.
The materials to be used would be according to the clients' requirements and should the client wish for natural materials the Boatyard has its own wood drying premises to ensure that materials would not crack or shrink when installed.
Finishes can be sprayed, hand polished, or brushed and to match the existing interior if furniture has been added. The best possible materials are advised to clients to aid them in the choice of finishing materials.

Ship Side Repair
Kalkara Boatyard has often undertaken major work where entire ship sides have had to be changed. This requires a high standard of knowledge, expertise and knowhow which the yard certainly does not lack. It has an un-rivalled reputation when it comes to classical and wooden yachts, it has undertaken tasks of removing rotten or broken planks and replacing with new ones.
Traditional methods are used and the Yard ensures that the original structure and method of plank laying is strictly adhered to. Care is taken to make certain that stresses on the hull are evenly distributed between the new planking and the existing ones.
Teak Deck
Kalkara Boatyard specialises in Teak Deck laying and is proud of its long history and satisfied customers in this particular task. Apart from the fact that the Yard has its own wood drying premises only the best superior materials are used.
Two of the Delceppo brothers have specialized in teak deck laying and each such job undertaken is strictly supervised by them. In most instances its always Rino Delceppo and his brother George that actually lay the teak besides supervising the other tasks required to complete the task. The finished job is always a 'work of art' and another notch marked as a job excellently done, a highly satisfied client and proud to be entered in the Yard's long history.

At the yard stainless steel fabrication of guard rails, pulpits, fuel tanks, anchor shields and any other needs for your boat can be manufactured on the yard premises.

Kalkara Boatyard is highly experienced in the installation of marine engines. The boatyard can undertake to remove engines, install new ones or do a complete overhaul according the clients' needs.

Our hull treatments, whether anti-fouling, resprays or varnish work, are all top quality. You can be assured of speed, safety, efficiency, protection, and enhanced boat value. Fittings above and below deck can be checked, repaired and replaced to suit your needs and budget. Boats for spraying are enclosed in a tent-like structure to comply with environmental regulations and safety requirements.
